iMetronome (with quartz accuracy)

We created a nifty little metronome application for the iPhone and we think you'll love it.  We were tired of downloaded metronomes that couldn't keep accurate time so we built one of our own!  I have to say that it's the most accurate metronome on the app store, and it closely matches those quartz metronomes from the music store.  Best of all it's free so give it a try and tell us what you think <download here>.

Version 1.4 submitted

We just submitted version 1.4 of iReadMusic for Apple's approval today.  Major new features of this release include:

Version 1.3 approved

Apple approved version 1.3 of iReadMusic and it's now available on iTunes (as of 9/3/09).  It appears Apple's review load has increased as this version took 14 days to make it through the queue.  An interesting Apple article here states they are reviewing 8500 apps/updates a week with only 40 reviewers.  Being the gatekeeper has its drawbacks.  Us developers can only hope Apple will improve over time.

Version 1.3 released to Apple

Last week we released version 1.3 of iReadMusic to Apple.  This release took a little longer than we anticipated, but hopefully Apple will approval it quickly.

Here's what new in version 1.3:

Added:
  • Lefty support
  • Option to display fret markers on fretless instruments
  • Option to hide string names
  • 250 note song
  • Feedback page

Too much spam

I've been getting too much spam lately so I've added a captcha challenge/response to the forums and blog comments.  Hopefully this will slow those spambots down!

Version 1.2 approved by Apple

After 15 days our version 1.2 update has been approved.  I guess with all the iPhone OS 3.0 madness the review process has slowed down a bit.  All previous submissions have been approved within a week so let hope we return to a more speedy approval process once 3.0 has passed.  With 40,000 different iphone apps I guess that's to be expected, but it is painful for us developers none the less.

Like I mentioned previously here's what's new for 1.2:

Congrats to users PsYcOsOcIaL 696, Darryl M. and ava!

I added the 2500 random note songs so you could play for a while and not have to restart the game.  I didn't expect anyone to actually complete the entire song.  Within a week there are three users ("PsYcOsOcIaL 696", "Darryl M." and "ava") who have completed the 2500 note song!

I'm very impressed!

Even if you could answer at 60 BPM it'd take nearly 45 minutes non-stop to complete, and PsYcOsOcIaL got a perfect score. PsYcOsOcIaL has set the bar. Can anyone else match him?

Version 1.2 submitted for approval

Version 1.2 was submitted to Apple today.  The new features include:

Version 1.1 approved and available on iTunes

Version 1.1 was approved by Apple today and is now available on iTunes. Let us know what you think.  If there any additional features that would make iReadMusic and even better training tool shoot us an email (feedback@glpsoftware.com) or post a suggestion on the forum.

If any of you are running iPhone 3.0 beta 5 know that we are working with Apple to identify a fix for the audio not installing. Hopefully we will have an update out shortly to resolve this issue.

Website woes...

We've had a few hick-ups with our website, and I want to apologize to all you that have taken time to post a comment or request that went unnoticed for a few weeks.  We're using Drupal, an open source web content management framework, to run our website.  It's super powerful but also has many buttons and dials that need to be configured correctly.  Hopefully we've straightened everything out, and I've turned all the knobs to 11 so it should be running even better now.
