I moved your post to a separate top level thread....
I'm experience a crash when running your app.
Here are the settings i have been using when this happens:
- Play that note! mode
- 250 random notes with accidentals
- Timed mode off
- Muted (I have the ipod touch 1st gen, so no speakers)
- Classical guitar as instrument
- Key: C major/Aminor
- Range: E2-G4
- 4 notes displayed at a time
- Displaying frets 1:4
- I am running the Ipod OS 3.0
The crash usually happens when i get almost 100 notes in. The Ipod turns black and then shows the apple logo like the system is booting up. I hope you have a solution to this because this is my favorite and most useful app. I believe you are responsible for me progressing as far as as i have in my music courses, and for that i offer you my deepest gratitude. Keep up the good work!

Fixed input format
I think I fixed the input format problem on the website, but if you still have problems please let me know.
As far as the crash goes I'm still debugging. I've only been able to recreate it a couple times (never with the debugger attached) and it's only happened when playing "Play That Note!" Seems to happen at random times, but it takes 4+ hours of play time before I see the crash on a iPhone 3G. For me it happens at a random time and always after I enter a correct answer (although my percentage of correct answers is pretty high so that just might be a coincident). Doesn't seem to happen at the end of the song but rather somewhere in the middle
Can you re-verify that you have the sound set to off on the iReadMusic setting page when it crashes?
The fact you have the first generation iPod means your processor is slower so if it's timing related that might explain why you see it more frequently. I'll try to get ahold of a 1st gen iPod to see if I can recreate the crash easier.
As far as additional info just posting here when you have a crash will help. Listing the game, your settings, and any observations will greatly help me solve this issue. It'd also be helpful if you could tell me what network you were on (wifi, edge, 3G, airplane mode, none). For the ipod it's wifi or none.
Again thanks for taking the time to post and I will get this issue fixed in the very near future.

Version 1.4 fixes the reset issue.
I was creating multiple audio units and that was causing the reset. This is fixed in version 1.4. If you ever see your phone reset while running iReadMusic please email me.

A Bad Crash
Hi,
You have uncovered a very nasty bug. The worst kind of bug an iphone app can have. The fact that iReadMusic crashes the entire OS really sucks. This is my top priority to fix, and just so you know, I have been able to recreate this crash after 4 to 6 hours of play time (in Play That Note). I've submitted a bug report to apple since nothing should be able to panic the OS into a reset, but I'm actively working on identify a fix or workaround for this issue.
I believe this related to some audio code so try turning the sound "OFF" on the setting page and see if you still experience the crash.
It takes me 4-6 hours to recreate this crash. On your device does this happens more frequently?
I'll post back as soon as I have any additional info.
Bruce
I cant figure out how to get formatting to work on this site...
Wow that was a quick reply! Thanks for looking into this. Here is some more information that i forgot to include that may help:
-The sound is already off, and i believe it has been every time the program crashes (I turned it off when i first got the program because i have the 1st gen ipod touch w/o speakers)
--Note scrolling is set to step
--The crash usually happens within 10-20 minutes of using the program
--The crash has occurred 6 or 7 times, but i have been unable to duplicate it since the last post
--I will keep trying with the same settings until i can duplicate it again
--Then i will change the settings and repeat until i can get it to crash
In the meantime, is there anything specific that i should be looking for when the program crashes? i.e. the note I'm on, how long the program has been running, how long the ipod has been running, memory loads, etc.
I let you know if the crash occurs under any different settings. Thanks again for your help!
